While AQI levels in the Ford Lake area are beginning to improve, they remain within the unsafe range for both physical and non-physical activity (rigging & trailer parking). The venue will remain closed on Friday, July 17, for all on-site activities. 

We will provide an update at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17 on if we will be opening the venue back up for any physical and non-physical activities.

FRIDAY, JULY 17 - 3:15 a.m. UPDATE

Due to persistent high winds, the course will be closed and there will be no more racing for the rest of the day (Saturday, July 18). 

Because of the scheduling delays, all Friday racing that was rescheduled until Sunday after previously scheduled racing will now be cancelled. 

Saturday racing that was not complete today, will now be rescheduled until after previously scheduled racing tomorrow (Sunday).  Races that completed heats Saturday morning will no longer have any finals and awards will be based off of fastest time. 

An updated schedule will follow.

SCHEDULE UPDATE: Due to high winds, all racing starting with 855C will be sent back to all docks to recover. All launching is closed. All racing will continue to be paused until further notice.

REGATTA UPDATE: 
Due to high winds, starting with race 858F, we are only allowing boats to launch within a 30 minute window from their official start time.

The AQI in the Ford Lake area continues to exceed the safe limit to be outside due to the smoke from the wildfires in Canada. To ensure safe conditions for all rowers, we are postponing all racing today and closing Ford Lake park completely.

To provide the best opportunity to complete racing for all competitors, all racing scheduled for today (July 16) will be rescheduled to take place after the already scheduled racing on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If any future schedule changes happen, these races will be the first to be cancelled. Additionally, all 500-meter sprints have been cancelled.

We will send another message out at 5:00 p.m. ET today with an update if we will be opening the Ford Lake Venue back up to all non-physical activity (trailer parking and rigging). That decision will be based on whether conditions are safe for participants to be outdoors.

The AQI in the Ford Lake Area has exceeded the safe limit to be outside due to the smoke from the wildfires in Canada. To ensure safe conditions for all rowers, we are pausing all racing today and closing Ford Lake park completely.

We will send the next update at 11:00 a.m. with more information on if/when it is safe enough for everyone to be outside and able to row.
